This country has always been racist. The world—for most of history—misogynist. The 🌈 community terrifies people because it makes them question their identity. Fascism is the coward's favorite governing system. This isn’t new. It’s a reminder.
Almost every book I’ve written has been about a woman taking on a man with power who didn’t deserve it. And I’m not that original—injustice is the status quo.
So, what actions can we take? I’ll keep writing and raging. I’ll keep reminding people that their anger is valid. Real. Warranted.
We are mourning the loss of a promise made to us by our grandmothers. But we cannot give up—it’s now our duty to deliver basic freedoms to our daughters.
Women deserve equal rights. Everyone deserves equal rights. No matter their gender, skin color, religion, or anything else.
I won’t stop believing that, no matter how many of my fellow citizens don’t agree.
And for those of you who need it, I write violent books about abusive men getting what they deserve. They are cathartic AF—themes as relevant now as when I started writing them 20 years ago.
