2024 is going to be a rough year, and I don’t say that because I’m a pessimist. I say it because unless 🟠🤡 gives up his run for presidency and decides to retire from public life, we are going to be in for a shitty time.

Trump will continue to be callous and cruel and just so very full of 🐂💩. And watching a dangerous percentage of Americans citizens continue to believe his lies will be infuriating.

I don’t know how they got so confused, but their ignorance is dangerous and annoying AF. It’s going to be in our faces this year.

There will be a deluge of impotent rage because, as individuals, there is only so much we can do to decide the future.

That doesn’t mean we don’t take action. Trust me, I will be acting up—big time—but action alone will not help my impotent rage because I’m not actually going to solve this *waves hand around at the almost crushing amount of issues to resolve*.

Therefore, I’m going to have some emotions to deal with while we attempt to keep fascism at bay.

Which is why I write feminist action novels that explore faith, justice, and death. Investigating the nuances of what’s under my rage definitely helps. And so does watching Sydney Rye and her dog, Blue, f**k s**t up knowing that Blue won’t ever die, but the bad guys will. In blood thirsty, vigilante kind of ways.

Writing is not a solution to our current crises, but I find my books cathartic, and you and your loved ones might too. Unless you’re supporters of the 🟠🤡, in which case my books are not for you.

For those of you enragified—a new word I made up that combines enraged and terrified—by what’s coming up in the next year, I suggest my Sydney Rye Mysteries.
