I say that on literally every single one of my posts because I know you’re all worried about Blue.
People thank me all the time for not offing him. To that I say: it’s for me as much as for you, people.
I cannot deal with a beloved dog dying in a book—even a bad dog. I’m not reading Cujo, you know? That’s just not how I want to spend my fiction reading time.
I love dogs. That’s why I made one of my main characters a dog—not so I could ☠️ it and break all our hearts.
I don’t f*** with babies either, for the record.
Now look, my books are gritty AF. They really are—they’ve got all the good stuff a feminist vigilante thriller should have: violence, sex, “adult” themes. They will make you cry. For real.
Don’t get it twisted, just because the dog never dies does NOT mean they are cozy.
I’m serious.
Lots of people who love dogs also enjoy violence and sex (out of wedlock 😱) in their fiction. So please don’t show up here after buying my books complaining about the content. Just because there is a dog in it, that doesn’t mean it’s cozy. Please heed my warnings.
And for the record, you can just keep scrolling. You do not, I repeat, do NOT have to tell me you feel unhappy about what I write. It’s cool, that’s for you to know, and me to give no f***s about.
