Often we feel like we have to "earn" relaxation, but that is stressful. Sometimes you need to relax in order to get anything done.
When something isn’t working—tasks are not getting completed, chores are piling up, etc—it’s best to relax. Take a walk. A bath. Read fiction. Enjoy your time. That’s what gets things rolling again. All the stuff that sounds “lazy”.
This is the relaxation paradox.
Working to relax is not actually relaxing. It’s exhausting. Instead, let’s relax to accomplish more work.
Start with fiction reading, end with the tasks, the projects, the work.
