I love shopping in bookstores—I mean LOVE it.

The smell, the cozy vibe, the books—so many adventures waiting for me. It's the best, right?

The thing is, I don't have room for all the books I want to buy. Right now, I almost exclusively read ebooks. Audiobooks are my backup for when I'm driving or doing chores around the house. Paperbacks, while incredibly pleasing to my senses, just don't fit into my lifestyle.

I want to support local bookstores and indie authors. While I appreciate Amazon will deliver almost anything within two days, I really don't like how their business tactics affect indie bookstores. Not to mention, as often as I buy new books, all those boxes and packaging. 😳 I want everyone to be happy and well paid. I want the earth to be healthy. I'm a sucker for equity and fairness. That's probably why I'm such a fan of fiction. 😉

Which brings me back around to bookstores—one of my first true loves. Truth be told, I've always wanted a bookstore of my own. A place where I'd spend my days surrounded by the incredible scent of stories, sipping tea, while immersed in a can't-take-my-eyes-off-the-page adventure. Clearly, I wasn't thinking much about the customer experience and more about finding a career path in which I read and drank tea. 😂

I found the answer…I'm an author now, I write the Sydney Rye Mysteries.

Sydney Rye and her dog, Blue, exact justice with a vengeance. The dog doesn’t die, but the bad guys do.

Now I think about the reader experience a lot because I'm also a businesswoman. I publish all my own books. I have done so for a decade—which makes me practically ancient in this field.

I even sell my books in my very own bookstore! It's a dream come true. I sell ebooks, digital audiobooks, paperbacks and hardcovers.

Beware—My books contain strong language and serious themes about justice. My work is not for the faint of heart. The stories are wild, fun adventures, but they are also raw and gritty.

I can't offer you a cup of tea when you enter my bookstore, but I can offer you an amazing deal…
