I’m a child of the 80s, so indie is cool—independent.
I’m self-published, which means I publish my own books. Not that long ago it was considered cringey. To the uneducated in the publishing world, it still is. Mostly people who are not book addicts but more casual readers for specific authors. They don’t stray far from the recommended reading lists of major publications, and so they don’t know about the indie publishing world. They are missing out on many fabulous books and writers.
Those of us making a living in this trade are often writing genre fiction in series.
